ECAP is there, where norms and EU Directives are created and where technical knowledge on anchors, screws and PATs is developed. ECAP informs its members on all news which can affect the present and the future of their products.

ECAP is linked to various European technical institutions. Its normative work, and related technical researches, are supported by the University of Milan (Politecnico di Milano), Dept. of Structural Engineering.

ECAP deals with the following issues related to the standardization process:

• Drafting of CEN standards on screws, powder actuated tools and cartridges
• Implementation of the new Construction Products Regulation (CPR)
• Antidumping on screws
• Training of anchors installers
• Balanced representation in technical bodies
