European SMEs created ECAP to represent their voice in Europe and join their forces and their mutual work to get a common advantage in the European standardization process, to grow in the technical development of their products and to share costs of high tech services.

ECAP was founded in February 2001 by a small group of great European producers, aware of the importance of approaching Europe at an European level. Today it has within its structure members from many European Countries.

ECAP 's activity is based on consensus. Balance and consensus are granted through ECAP's Statute, and are reached through internal discussions. Technical issues are developed within ECAP Working Groups, made of technical representatives of all ECAP members.
